UX Software Consultant (Contract)

Location: Remote and within 2 hours of Kansas City, MO

The opportunity is for a mid-to-senior-level UX Software Consultant to work on a project for the US Marine Corps related to financial and personnel systems modernization, consolidation, and modernization.

Our client, a leading User Experience (UX) consulting firm based in the Indianapolis area, understands what it takes to make software useful, usable, and appealing. They have a long track record of helping organizations understand users and synthesize needs, expectations, and desires into superior user experiences. This means that you, the software developer, will enjoy building well-designed applications that matter!

We are looking for UX Consultants with experience designing and advising on software development efforts that are useful, usable, and appealing to work with other UX, UI consultants, and software developers.  

TO BE SUCCESSFUL in this project, and with future projects, you will draw upon your knowledge and experiences in: 

• Software development methodology based upon Agile/Scrum and/or Kanban,
• Understanding and ability to articulate and present user stories,
• Understanding of software architecture and capabilities

You should possess the ability to collaborate as well as work independently and remotely and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Experience in any of these areas is highly favorable:

Software/Application Design experience. Andy technical/professional certification from industry-recognized organizations are also helpful, such as... (Oracle, PMI, IQTSB, CompTIA, Puppet Labs, Red Hat, etc).

• Knowledge of USMC systems and culture.
• Understanding and experience with cloud-based applications

This is a contract opportunity working on a federal government project. Contract opportunity duration is expected to be 6 months with the possibility of extension.
